BOOKING CONDITIONS

CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
Payment of a deposit or, if within 11 weeks of travel, full payment of the holiday shall constitute the basis of the contract between the Party Leader (the Client) and us (YSE Limited), subject to these Booking Conditions and the descriptions of the accommodation and services given on this website. The contract shall exist when payment has been received by us from you, the Client, and a Confirmation and Invoice has been sent to you, the Client, by us. This contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Please check your Confirmation and Invoice very carefully to see that all details are correct. Please contact us immediately if any information is incorrect as it may not be possible to make changes later. We cannot accept liability should you fail to notify us more than seven days after receipt of the Confirmation and Invoice, and you will be liable for any costs then incurred in rectifying these errors.

PARTY LEADER
The Party Leader guarantees to pay the full cost of the holidays of all those travelling in the group, as well as damage deposits (see below) where applicable. We cannot accept a booking if the Party Leader is less than 18 years of age.

The Party Leader is responsible for sending the names, ski pass requirements, travel details (and times of coaches for YSE transfers if required), confirmation that all guests are insured, including cancellation insurance, and dietary requirements for every client in the booking. We also require the dates of birth for all clients both for ski passes and the transfer company.  We cannot book either for you without them.

If these details are not at least 10 weeks prior to departure, the Confirmation and Invoice may not show the correct amount due and administration charges may be incurred. We will send you a booking form (in Excel) which we urge you to use to ensure all the information is given. You don’t have to use the booking form but we then require the same information on an email.

PRICES
The prices on this website, and on each chalet page, are in sterling. All chalets are priced per chalet with the exception of Chalet Les Chardons where the prices given are per person. Nearer departure date some smaller chalets may be “split” and a per person price may be quoted. The holiday price applicable to the dates booked must be paid. Telephone quotes are subject to written confirmation.

PRICE GUARANTEE, NO SURCHARGES
Once your holiday has been booked its price will not change even if the value of sterling falls. However, we reserve the right to amend our prices before you book, and to notify you of the new prices when you book.

PAYMENTS
For both 2023-24 and 2024-25 holidays we require a deposit of 25% of the price of the chalet being booked. For Les Chardons holidays we require a deposit of £250 per bed booked. These deposits are non-refundable.

Those booking whole chalets for 2024-25 will need to make a further deposit of 25% by 16 September 2024.

The full holiday cost is due ten weeks before departure.

Payment for the initial deposit on booking may be made in cash, by cheque (made payable to ‘YSE Limited’), bank transfer (CHAPS, FPC or BACS) or by debit/credit card including American Express.

If you use a card registered as a corporate card or a card issued outside the EU and not in the UK, we will add a charge of 2% to your invoice due to the increased processing fees levied by our card company. We may levy this charge after the payment has been made if we were not aware of the type of card being use when the payment was processed.

The second 25% deposit (for 2024-25 chalet holidays), balances due, and full payment of holidays made within 11 weeks of departure can only be paid by cheque or bank transfer. If a booking is made within 14 days of departure we cannot accept cheques, and payment must be made by bank transfer. Payment details are on the How to Book page.

When making a bank transfer from overseas you must ensure that the net amount arrives in our account and that all related bank charges are paid by you. A £15 charge will be added to your booking if you are making a payment from an overseas bank and bank charges were deducted from your payment.

The Party Leader must handle all aspects of the booking.

If we are required to find and process several payments for one booking, we reserve the right to levy an administration fee of £25.

Once we have sent your Confirmation and Invoice, no further reminder will be sent unless you specifically ask us to send you one. All balances paid after the due date specified on the invoice will be subject to a 2% late payment administration charge which will need to be paid within 2 weeks of the original balance due date.

Should the balance continue to remain unpaid seven days after the 2% late payment charge has been levied, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and levy cancellation charges as laid out below.

DAMAGE DEPOSITS
We levy a Damage Deposit of £1,000 to those booking into our chalets with children between the ages of 2 to 5 in some of our chalets – please see your chalet page to see if you are affected. We may also levy a Damage Deposit to all-male groups and/or those with most of the party under the age of 21.

The Damage Deposit can be paid by card via Stripe of via Bacs transfer. At the end of your holiday we will contact you if any deductions after require. Otherwise we will refund your card or bank account as soon as possible. It is helpful if you can give us your bank details before you go on holiday if you pay your Damage Deposit by Bacs. Refunds via Strip can take up to 5-7 days.

INSURANCE
It is a condition of booking that all Clients have adequate Wintersports Insurance. This includes cancellation insurance for all reasons other than those covered by our Covid Guarantee. You will be responsible for any costs that arise following an incident and any claims made. We cannot give advice on any insurance policies.

You must ensure you have a UK GHIC and details of how to get one. can be found on this NHS website. EU Nationals and those from Iceland, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Norway can get an EHIC.  The GHIC and EHIC are not alternatives to taking out an insurance policy but they can ensure free medical treatment from state run hospitals and your insurance company may insist you have this card.

Carte Neige and Carré Neige are not replacements for a full travel insurance policy either.

TRAVEL AGENTS
Any money paid by you to a Travel Agent in respect of a YSE holiday is held by the Agent on our behalf. Should you book your holiday via a Travel Agent, all correspondence should be solely with the Travel Agent. Any advice given by a Travel Agent which is not based on written advice given by us is the responsibility of the Travel Agent. We do not accept liability if incorrect advice is given in these circumstances.

If you have booked your YSE holiday with an agent please do not contact YSE about matters regarding the holiday. You must go through the agent.

IF WE ALTER YOUR BOOKING
It is most unlikely that we will have to make changes to your holiday but, since we will have made arrangements many months in advance of your holiday, we reserve the right to do so. If we do have to alter your holiday in any way, we will inform you of the alteration as soon as possible. In the case of a major alteration we will offer you the choice of a holiday of at least comparable standard or a full refund.

If you book into a split chalet but don’t fill more than half the beds in that chalet, we reserve the right to move you to a comparable chalet if the chalet doesn’t fill. if the alternative chalet isn’t acceptable we will make a full and immediate refund.

IF YOU ALTER YOUR BOOKING
Should you wish to make any alteration to your booking after it has been confirmed by us, we will comply with your request where possible. If the alteration is substantial and/or you lower the value of a holiday already booked, we reserve the retain the difference in deposit as an administration fee.

Simple name changes made more than one week prior to departure will not lead to amendment fees. It is imperative that we have the names of all those arriving to stay in our chalets and these must be provided to our office in good time.

We will not permit anyone to stay in our chalets if we have not been notified and given their name. You may not have more guests staying in the chalet than the maximum number of beds given on this website.

Other amendments may result in cancellation charges as laid out below.

If you book the transfers organised by YSE between Geneva and Val d’Isère, there will be no refund for any cancellation with 7 days of departure.

IF YOU CANCEL YOUR BOOKING
Should you cancel a whole chalet or in the case of Les Chardons bookings, should be member of your party cancel, cancellation charges will be made. All cancellations must be notified to us in writing by the Party Leader. We cannot make any cancellation refunds to individuals in whole chalet bookings, only if the whole chalet is cancelled.

The deposit paid will be forfeited in all cases and, depending when notification is sent to us, the following charges (expressed as a percentage of the total holiday cost) will be made:

If no written notice of cancellation is received cancellation will be deemed to have been effected on the day of departure. We reserve the right to re-sell any part of a cancelled holiday and this does not affect our right to levy cancellation fees. A Cancellation Invoice can be sent only to the Party Leader.

YOUR BEHAVIOUR
You undertake to behave in such a manner as not to disrupt the enjoyment of others both on the journeys to and from Val d’Isère and in the resort itself, and undertake not to prejudice our reputation with our customers, the owners of our accommodation or our suppliers. The holiday of any Client or Party in breach of this clause may be terminated immediately and we will have no further contractual obligations towards him/her or them. In addition, the holiday of any Client or Party who we, or another person in authority, believe may upset, annoy or disturb other clients, our suppliers or own staff, or put them at any risk, may be terminated immediately and we will have no further contractual obligations towards him/her or them. This may be before the holiday is taken. In addition we reserve the right to recover the cost (or estimated cost if an actual cost is not yet known) of any loss, damage or breakage caused by a Client or Party. We cannot accept responsibility for the actions of any Clients or be held liable for any claims made against them.

CHILDREN
You must inform us at the time of booking if there are children (aged 16 or under) in your party, and tell us the age they will be on the final day of your holiday. We do not accept children under five into Les Chardons or any split chalet. We accept children over the age of 5  in Les Chardons on dates outlined here. Children over the age of 14 are accepted into Les Chardons on all dates but they only get the child discount during the peak dates.

TRANSFERS
Our transfer coaches may not have fitted seat belts and, therefore, may not be suitable for a child car seat. We will not be able to let you know in advance whether your particular coach will have seat belts or not. Infants under the age of two on the return date of travel must sit on a parent’s lap but we will allocate a seat at £30 per trip to any child under two to give you more room.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
We will do our utmost to help with all aspects of your booking and to incorporate any special requests you may make. These may involve an extra cost and we will let you know if this is the case. Only requests confirmed by us in writing are guaranteed. We do ask that you let us know any request you may have in advance and do not wait until you arrive on the first night of you holiday. This includes those with different diets, special drinks and food and anything you regard as vital in the chalet.

PASSPORTS
All Clients must be in possession of a valid passport along with all necessary visas and permits to allow entry into France (and Switzerland if you are flying in to Geneva) and to allow re-entry into the UK. Any costs or fines incurred by YSE (on our transfer coaches or in our chalets) due to a Client’s failure to comply with any regulations will be passed on to the Party Leader of the booking.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

OUR LIABILITY
In all the arrangements we have made for your holiday we have taken reasonable steps to ensure that the suppliers of the services used are of an acceptable standard. However, we would point out that we do not own or control the organisations providing our accommodation or those who organise the transfers we may sell you.

We accept responsibility for the services we have contracted to provide but we cannot accept liability where the provision of services is interrupted by reason of war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, technical problems to transport, terrorist activity, force majeure, Act of God, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather or driving conditions.

If you suffer personal injury or death from any activity which is not part of your holiday booked with us but occurs during the holiday, we will not be liable for any compensation but will give assistance in resolving a claim against a third party, if required. This assistance will include where necessary and appropriate, and at our discretion, the payment of legal fees up to a limit of £5,000 per booking. This is on condition that an insurance claim is made under the Legal Expenses section of your insurance cover in respect of any legal fees incurred abroad, and that your insurance company confirms that you are covered for such a claim before any payment can be made by us. It is also a condition that YSE is repaid out of any monies recovered from a third party or insurance policy.

These Booking Conditions and your contract with YSE Limited are subject to UK Law.
