YSE AUTOMATIC INSURANCE
We always aim to provide smooth transfers between Val d’Isère and the airport, but there are rare occasions when this cannot be achieved owing to circumstances beyond our control, such as avalanches or mud slides across the road, bad weather or coach breakdown. This may result in considerable additional travel and accommodation expenses if we have to use a hotel mid-journey, for instance, or if the flight home has to be changed. These are not covered under most travel insurance policies.
In the event of such a delay, we make all the necessary extra arrangements ourselves, and to achieve this we automatically arrange cover on behalf of all of our clients for up to £500 per person for necessary additional travel and accommodation expenses that we may incur on their behalf. The premium for this is included in the holiday cost.
YSE OPTIONAL COVER
It is a condition of booking that all guests have adequate insurance cover. Our policy is arranged by Voyager Insurance Services Ltd, one of the UK’s most experienced travel insurance specialists, underwritten by UK Underwriting Ltd on behalf of Fortis Insurance Limited. Unless specifically agreed to the contrary, this insurance is subject to English law.
If you are insured elsewhere, please check that your policy covers skiing and snowboarding (off-piste if relevant) and gives at least the same cover as this policy in all categories, including medical and legal expenses, and cancellation. If you have Private Medical Insurance, it is worth checking whether it covers the treatment of skiing or snowboarding injuries (see below). Please note that very few credit cards provide adequate (if any) wintersports cover if you pay for your holiday using the card and, even then, most of them cover the cardholder only.
Demands and Needs Statement
This travel insurance policy will suit the Demands and Needs of an individual, or group (where applicable) who have no pre-existing medical conditions, are travelling to countries included within the policy terms and who wish to insure themselves against the financial impact of specified unforeseen circumstances/events relating to or occurring during the trip. Full details of these circumstances/events, levels of cover and terms and conditions can be found in the policy booklet.
IMPORTANT - You may already possess alternative insurance(s) for some or all of the features and benefits provided by this product; it is your responsibility to investigate this. We will not provide you with advice about the suitability of this product for your individual needs; we will however be happy to provide you with factual information to aid you in making your own informed buying decision.

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
We will send the policy wording to anyone who buys YSE’s optional insurance. Please read it carefully upon receipt, paying particular attention to the section headed ‘Important Features of your Insurance’. The Holiday Insurance allows a 14-day period from the time you receive the details during which you can cancel it and get a full refund if it does not suit your needs, provided you have not already travelled and there are no claims.
FAMILY PACKAGE
Covers two adults and up to four children (including children’s friends travelling as part of the family).
ANNUAL POLICY
Maximum age 64 at date of purchase. Business Travel excluded. Maximum duration any one trip 31 days. Wintersports included up to 31 days in total in year. Under Annual Family policies, children are insured only if travelling with insured parent.
PRIVATE UK MEDICAL TREATMENT
We offer a special extension to cover medical treatment in the UK (consequent upon a skiing accident occurring during the holiday). For a premium of £20 including tax, you will be insured for treatment up to £5,000 providing this cannot be claimed from any Private Medical Insurance policy (many policies do not cover skiing injuries). All claims must be discussed with the Direct Group Claims Service prior to treatment.
HEALTH WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS
Please note that this Insurance contains certain exclusions relating to certain health conditions that may affect you or anyone else upon whom your travel plans may depend. Please answer these questions in relation to you and your travelling companions:
Have any of you ever suffered from or been investigated or treated for or diagnosed with
| i) |
any cancer or malignant condition? |
| ii) |
any lung- or heart-related condition (including angina)? |
Do any of you suffer from any other pre-existing medical conditions, i.e. any condition that has required referral to or consultation with a specialist or hospital for treatment, investigation or check-up within the previous 12 months? If the answer to any of these is YES then there is no cover for claims related directly or indirectly to these conditions. However, cover may be available if you contact our Pre-Screening service on 0845 218 1649 (Open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm Saturday and Sunday). You must quote reference VOY/YSE/2009.
In many cases cover is provided at no extra cost. If special terms are necessary they will explain them to you and confirm them in writing.
You are also not covered if you are planning to travel:
| 1) |
when you have been given a terminal prognosis |
| 2) |
when you are on a waiting list for treatment/investigation |
| 3) |
when you have any medical condition as a result of which a medical practitioner has advised you not to travel, or would have done so had you sought his advice. |
MATERIAL FACTS
You must advise Voyager Insurance Services of all material facts. A material fact is one that is likely to influence insurers in accepting your insurance. If you are in any doubt as to whether a fact is ‘material’, please contact Voyager Insurance Services on 01483 562662.
Please read the Medical and Cancellation Sections of the wording very
carefully when you receive it, particularly items (b) and (c) of the items
you are not covered for.
