NON-SKIERS

Bringing a non-skier to Val d’Isère is a bit like taking a Lapp to a lap-dancing club – they might not feel like the obvious target market. But it still has far more happening than most British villages: firework displays, torchlight descents, a weekly pedestrian fête, two cinemas, langlauf, paragliding, microlight rides, spas, guided snowshoe walks through the woods, ice climbing, bridge tournaments, visits to a dairy farm with cheese-making, dog sledding, the Monday market, and one of France’s best pâtisseries. Non-skiers get cheap lift passes, so it’s easy for them to join skiers for lunch on the slopes.
