Staff Reviews
By YSE staff who completed a recent winter season in Val d’Isère.
Winter 2024-25
Working for YSE has been one of the best decisions of my life. After reading last year’s reviews before applying I honestly didn’t think working here would live up to the expectation. However it definitely did. Everyone here is extremely like minded, all being similar ages, friendly and up for an adventure. Annabel and John have been amazing to work for, they are always a phone call away and will have our side with any sort of conflict. They have a genuine care for all employees and made a huge effort to make our season as enjoyable as possible. Having the opportunity to ski 6 times a week has definitely contributed to this season being everything I’d hoped for. However, the life long friends we have all made is what really makes it. Skiing, working and living with a group of 45 other staff creates an unimaginable bond. I know at any point after this season whereever I am there will be a YSE member close by I can rely on for a catch up. I can happily say this has been the best 5 months of my life and could not recommend YSE highly enough to anyone looking at applying.

After finishing uni I was unsure what I wanted to do next. I heard through family friends how great YSE was and that I should definitely consider working for them. Applying for YSE, I didn’t think I’d be the ‘stereotypical’ girl to be hired and was worried that I wouldn’t fit in when I started. Reflecting back on my 6 months in Val d’Isere has been the best experience. YSE definitely know to hire like minded people and everyone I’ve met has been incredible and many friends for life. Annabel, John, Murray and Christina make sure you are always looked after and always check in on everyone from the first week of the season to the last week when we all move back into Chardons together. Unlike other companies, YSE has many years of experience in the resort and no one else is really like John with his entertaining humour and iconic jokes. Annabel will always reply within 3 minutes of messaging her and knows how to solve any issue you have. Knowing people from other companies in Val, I can confidently say that YSE is the best company for skiing, working, social life and meeting amazing people. Guaranteed skiing 6 days a week, ski pass and ski hire included, amazing food and very sociable accommodation you can’t ask for much more. YSE is more than just a chalet company, it’s an amazing way to meet the best people, ski for 6 months and make incredible memories. If you’re weighing up whether YSE is the right company for you, I can guarantee it is. Thank you YSE, it’s been the best 6 months!

I applied for YSE after much research into chalet hosting companies. The staff reviews on the page truly sold me on the company and therefore I would love to explain a bit about my experience. It has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life; the friends made, social activities participated in, and work ethic learnt, have been a few things have really stood out for me. The training that one is subject to at the start of the season is rigorous but ultimately invaluable for the season, not only did we learn much about the food, but it gave us such a good opportunity to make friends and learn about the company and its values. This carries on throughout the season as a whole, we were constantly given opportunities to better ourselves and become closer with those around us. The fact that we were able to ski 6 out of 7 days in a week is obviously the highlight, the snow has been incredible for the majority season and I finally feel as though my skiing has improved! The apres ski life in Val is also a massive bonus! I would like to say a massive thank you to John, Annabel, Christina and Murray for always being there for us all if anything were to go wrong! You always know that someone will be there to fight your corner and it’s so nice to have a support system in the resort as opposed to being a million miles away. Thank you YSE for the best 6 months of my life thus far!

I was lucky enough to come to YSE as a guest when I was younger, and ever since that first trip with my cousin (who ended up working at YSE with me), I knew I wanted to do a ski season. It honestly turned out to be everything I imagined and more. It’s definitely been exhausting at times, but also some of the most fun and full-on months of my life. There’s always something going on—whether that’s skiing, après, or napping—which means you’re never bored. Getting to ski six days a week (if you wanted to) felt like such a treat, and we were lucky enough to get loads of snow, so we were skiing right up until the lifts closed. On top of that, being surrounded by such a great group of people made the experience even better. From the moment we met at the airport, we all got on like a house on fire, and I know I’ve made friends for life. Annabel and John run an amazing company. They’re not just brilliant bosses—they genuinely care about you and your experience. Annabel is amazing at putting people in chalets that suit them, and very accommodating if you ever want a change. There’s also the chance to meet so many different people—from guests to other seasonaires—from all sorts of backgrounds. It’s easily one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever done, and I honestly couldn’t recommend YSE more. I might be a bit biased, but I genuinely think it’s the best chalet company out there, and I can confidently say every single one of the 45 other YSE staff feels the same.

YSE is without a doubt the best company to work for in Val d’Isère. Annabel, John, Murray and Christina are the most experienced and supportive people to work with. They work really closely with you in the resort and are always available in the training to make sure you’re prepared for the work and throughout the season if you have queries or concerns about work or more personal life situations. I was so nervous before the season, thinking I’d struggle to make friends or not enjoy the work. Looking back on the season, though I was aware of it in the first week, I don’t think I’ve ever met 45 people that I get on with so well, who all want to be friends and make sure that no one ever feels left out or on their own. I’ve met so many new best friends who all are so like minded, incredibly kind and enthusiastic about life. The work, while it feels overwhelming at first, is very manageable and really fun. I worked in a 10 man chalet with an amazing chalet partner, we worked really well together and were so proud of the chalet and the holidays we hosted. The season involves a lot of early mornings and late nights but you meet so many amazing new people and really push yourself to try new things and put yourself out of your comfort zone. I have had the time of my life out here and wish it would last forever. Thank you so much!!

If you are looking for something to do between university and the real world, I could not recommend anything more than working a ski season for YSE. I have walked away from this experience so grateful for the opportunities afforded to me. I spent the season working in two different chalets that catered for 12 and 16 people respectively, always with another host. We worked for 5 days of the week, with hours typically from 7-11am, before returning to work for dinner service between 7-9:30pm. YSE’s catering system is second to none, which most of the preparation work being done in the central kitchen by Murray and his team. This not only allows for the quality of the food to stay consistent, but also allows for more ski time for the staff. The season starts with 2-3 weeks of training, which leaves you totally prepared for guests to arrive. The work was incredibly rewarding, with one of my favourite parts of the job being exposed to guests from all walks of life. I lived with 4 other boys in accommodation underneath a chalet, and absolutely loved every second of it. Despite staff coming from all over the UK and the world, I was so surprised at how similar we all were. We all got along so well and will be friends for life. A testament to the relationships we have built is that a group of us are travelling South-East Asia together after the season. The YSE team of Annabel, John, Murray, Christina and Hannah look after you so well, and I feel so fortunate to have worked for them. This experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I have already recommended to my friends back in Australia.

Working for YSE for the 2024/25 season has been an unforgettable experience. After finishing uni and working in London for 2 years, taking a career break and coming on a ski season was one of the best decisions of my life. As a chalet host for the season meant I had lots of time to ski, socialise and meet a huge variety of guests. The staff accommodations being in the centre of town makes going out skiing really easy, meaning we can get in 4/5 hours in a day. The way the accommodation is managed guarantees you will get to know everyone so quickly and make good friends so easily. Throughout my time here I have felt so looked after by John, Annabel, Murray and Christina. They are the best bosses/management I’ve ever had. The training programme at the beginning of the season sets you up for your time here and is a great way to meet people. The social aspect of the season within YSE is fantastic, with many like minded people all looking to have a great time, you will have no issue having fun here. There are a great places to go out, which I’m sure you’ll love. Everyone here loves skiing, whether you are a beginner or advanced there will always be a group for you to join. The TDC discount lessons are a great way to push yourself, and if you’re into off-piste, they’ll show you the best routes. Finally, Val d’Isère has been the most incredible place to work. Amazing snow, beautiful ski areas and lots of places to go out. My time at YSE has been incredible and I cannot recommend the person reading this to apply more. Everyone you work with is up for a laugh, wants to work hard, play hard, and will be friends for life! If you do make the right decision and apply to YSE, I can assure you that you will not regret it and will have the time of your life.

I could not recommend doing a ski season enough, and Val d’Isere is probably the best resort to do it in! YSE is one of the biggest chalet companies to work for in the resort and is an incredible company. I finished university in the summer and always wanted to fit in a ski season before starting work. At YSE everyone is 21+ and most have recently finished university so all have a lot in common and get on very well. Annabel, John & Christina are great at their jobs & are always by their phones if ever needed. It helps that YSE has been going for years in Val d’Isère so they know almost everyone in the resort. I was a chalet host in Chalet des Pentes for most of the season & the work consisted of a morning shift & evening shift with 2 full days off. Typically the morning shift was cooking a breakfast for the guests then giving the chalet a quick clean. Then the evening shift is serving a 3 course meal + canapés, usually with another host. Although the standards are high it’s quite chilled outside of work, being able to ski 6 days a week if you would like to! There is also great nightlife which you can enjoy as long as you wake up to your alarm in the morning.

I applied to YSE after hearing about it from a family friend. After following her advice I can confirm it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Being a chalet girl at YSE teaches you more than just how to cook and clean, but how to communicate effectively with people, cope away from home, deal with (at times) tricky people and overcome chaotic living situations. I would be lying if I said it’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done, going out with friends most nights, waking up at 6am for work and skiing all day… only to repeat it the next day can be pretty intense! But the bonds you make with the like-minded people around you are unbreakable. Whilst I’ve learnt so much from YSE, the best thing I’m taking away is the friends I’ve made. I know I’ll be friends with them for life and maybe some will even be bridesmaids! YSE really becomes your family for 6 months and you share an experience that not many can relate too. Whilst I’m sad to be leaving Val d’isere there’s a group of 10 us off to travel around Asia together once we leave, which shows just how close we’ve all become! I would without a doubt recommend YSE, and will keep the memories and friends forever.

From the recruitment process to leaving Val d’Isere, YSE were supportive and helpful. Annabel and Murray were on hand to help whenever, from VISA explanations and last minute food prep questions to helping with future plans. John and Christina were also present and key figures in making the great season what it was. The only worry I had before coming out here was the age difference I had to other staff. I’m slightly older at 24 but a handful of people were also in the same boat and ended up making no difference to my season. The friends I’ve made over the past five months will remain my friends for a very long time; we’re already planning the Val reunion! The opportunity to ski most days with friends for five months is something I’ll always cherish. The apres, work and the variety of guests you meet is all part of the whole experience – tiring but entertaining. I’ll miss Val d’Isere and everyone I’ve met here very much but look forward to seeing everyone again.

Having finished the season with YSE, I can say it is most likely the best company I will ever work for. Murray, Christina, John and Annabel go above and beyond to look after us and make sure we are, not only hard working, but also having as much fun as possible! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to ski 6 out of 7 days a week in one of the best resorts in the world, whilst also learning life skills that will follow me through life. Being a chalet host teaches you to talk to people that come from all walks of life, ensuring they’re having the best week ever whist staying professional. Asides from work, a ski season with YSE feels like you enter into a new family of 50 people, in which you get to know your colleagues turned friends very well. Due to the intensity of the environment, I have made friends that I will stay in touch with for life. It feels like a luxury to know that wherever I am in the world there will most likely be a YSE worker close by!

As the Commis chef I had a role that allowed me to gain new skills by being involved in the kitchen prep throughout the week. The kitchen has a unique energy compared to any other job I had worked in before, (finance, and commodities), led by Murray the kitchen is efficient and extremely positive. As breakfast chef I also had the pleasure of working alongside the largest number of colleagues from chef to host. Making life long memories of just how enjoyable work can be. Aside from work the management understands how a season is supposed to be enjoyed, work hard, and apres ski even harder. My afternoons off, whilst meaning I had one lie-in a week, came with the benefit of meaning I could go to all the socials. Striking a balance is important to ensure you meet YSE’s standards and ski and socialise as much as possible to make memories that last a life time. Fiona manages to hire 50 people that gel, helped by our similar interests and attitude to life. This has helped us make life long bonds.

Working for YSE has genuinely been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Coming all the way from Canada, I had no idea what to expect—but from the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported by the YSE team, and that feeling never faded. Skiing every day on the breathtaking slopes of Val d’Isère felt like living in a dream. The job itself was intense at first, but once I found my rhythm, it became second nature—and surprisingly rewarding. As a chalet host, I picked up so many practical and unique skills, from cooking and hosting to problem-solving and staying calm under pressure. These are things I know I’ll carry with me into any future job. But what made the experience truly unforgettable were the friendships. YSE does an incredible job of bringing together like-minded people, which makes it so easy to bond and build a real sense of community. If you love skiing, creating unforgettable memories, making lifelong friendships, and partying – you should do a season with YSE.

My season with YSE has been one of the best times of my life. John, Annabel, Murray and Christina looked after us amazingly well, and were great fun. They provided supportive feedback if something wasn’t great, but always wanted the best for us. I worked as a chalet host, so I cooked food, served drinks and generally provided a YSE standard chalet holiday for the guests. The mornings were early, but you get used to them and the skiing and social life made it well worth it. I had only skiied a week before I came to work here, but now feel very confident. So I wouldn’t let skiing experience be a factor into deciding whether to do this or not for anyone. I also happened to meet an amazing girl out here, who I ended up living with. This is a testament to YSEs recruitment process. Every staff member was great, and all of us will remain great friends. Bottom line is I couldn’t recommend it more, I’m going to suggest to all my mates they do it and I’m thinking of doing another season already.

Working for YSE was an experience of a lifetime and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the very beginning, Anabel, John, Murray, and Christina took such great care of us, making sure we were well-prepared, supported, and looked after throughout the entire season. I worked as a chalet host in Chalet des Neiges, which catered for 15 guests. While I was initially nervous about managing such a large group, everything quickly fell into place. Thanks to Murray’s detailed meal plans and the pre-prepared food, the process became smooth and manageable—especially after the first few weeks. What I value most from my time with YSE are the friendships I made. Everyone on the team was so friendly, like-minded, and adventurous. I lived in the main staff accommodation with three amazing girls who have become some of my closest friends. Annabel did an amazing job pairing us based on personality.

I thought about doing a season for YSE for the last years, but because of the pandemic and university, it didn’t work out. I’m so happy I finally made it after university. I’m really glad I took this decision. I got the maintenance job. At first, I was very humbled for the job because I’m not a handyman at home and I didn’t have a degree in engineering. But that’s not necessarily required. I would say the most important things are being sensible, being able to drive and being keen to learn. No one is expecting major repairs. Most of the jobs were things like changing dishwashers, ovens and lightbulbs. The first weeks of the year were really tough and tiring, but the chance to go snowboarding and the whole vibe made it better. From the end of January, most jobs are similar, and you become more efficient. This means you have more time to spend on the slopes. I have always loved the mountains and snowboarding, but over the last six months, I have fallen even more in love with it. I will come back next year for another season. I learnt a lot, both for my personal development and to improve my skills.
I meet lots of lovely people who I would consider to be my friends.

After having a brilliant time working for YSE as a chalet host last season, I made the decision to come back for a second time. Annabel, Murray, Christina, John and Fiona are such amazing employers that the possibility of applying to other chalet companies didn’t even enter my mind. Being a slightly smaller company that operates solely in Val d’Isère, the management team has an incredibly hands-on approach in terms of supporting you and making sure you’re having the best season possible. All positions come with an exceptional work-life balance, with plenty of time to ski and socialise with the 45-50 other like-minded staff members working for YSE. Overall, this season has been just as incredible as the last. If you apply to work for YSE you’ll be creating unforgettable memories that not only make your friends back home extremely jealous, but also mean the formation of new friendships that last a lifetime.

I quit my job in the NHS to work for YSE and I’m so pleased I did. Despite no real hospitality experience the rigorous training ensured I felt ready for my first set of guests when they arrived in early December. The first 2 weeks is very full on with thorough training on how to cook and clean; but it is also a great opportunity to meet your colleagues and get to know Val d’Isere. This level of training and support is something you continue to feel through the season. Annabel, Christina and Murray are hugely supportive and if you work hard and work well you will have a truly amazing season. Over the course of the last 6 months I’ve learnt how to cook, how to host and entertain and how to clean a large chalet in record time…! A huge selling point for YSE is the amount of time you get to ski. Once we were in the swing of things, we were normally finished by around 10:30 am and didn’t have to be back in the chalet until 6:00pm, meaning the whole middle part of the day was left for skiing. Murray’s meals (the central kitchen preps the food for us and it gets sent to the chalet in mornings) saves us about 2 hours a day compared to other chalet companies and ensures we serve great quality food every day. Lastly, there are very few times in my life where I have met 45 new people and genuinely got on with them all. Our group was so cohesive, despite a big range of ages (21-27yrs) and we really felt like a true team. The friends I have made will be friends for life and this is one of the things I’m most grateful for. Couldn’t recommend working for YSE enough.

A season with YSE is the perfect example of working hard and playing hard. While you may have some early starts and late evening the days are filled with fantastic skiing with fab company. Therefore a season in Val d’Isere is something I have thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to all who are looking for a gap between university and the ‘real world’. I was motivated to sign on for a ski season after falling back in love with skiing after a university ski trip and watching chalet girl one too many times. And while at points it could be challenging to know that you were in a such a large group going through the same thing meant you were never lonely. I spent the full season working in Maison du Rocher and now know the chalet like the back of my hand. And with Murray’s fantastic black box meal system my co-host and I were often out of the chalet before 11am! Welcoming guests into the chalet was exciting as you never knew who was coming through the door, but who I met may have helped in my next steps in my career. YSE would not be without its fab management team of John, Annabel, Murray and Christina providing constant support to their staff, guests and each other throughout the season. My time at here has been fantastic with my highlights including learning to ski off piste, the weekly pilgrimage to Cocoricos, valley Rally, awards nights and making fantastic friends. Hoping to be back soon,

There are a myriad of benefits for working with YSE. All of the staff were graduates, which meant it was easy to make friends with people with similar mindsets. The system the management team has developed in terms of food preparation maximises your slope time and the guests’ experience, as the food is such a high standard and consistent across chalets (generally anyway). Annabel manages all the chalets fairly, listening to anyone’s concerns and taking them into careful considering. The people you work with really make the season, and the people YSE employ are some of the best going.

Applying to do a season with YSE in Val d’sere has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only is Val d’Isere one of the best resorts in the Alps, but I also believe that YSE is the best chalet company out there. A season with YSE entails meeting the most incredible people, amazing skiing all year round, and making so many wonderful memories that will stick with you for a long time. Even though I managed to break both my thumb and wrist this season I was still able to have the best time, had I been working at any other company this wouldn’t have been the case. With the support from Annabel and being surrounded by such a wonderful YSE team you are guaranteed to have a fun, rewarding, and memorable five months.

This was my first adventure after graduating from university in the summer of 2024, and I can confidently say it was the best decision I could have made. For me, the most remarkable aspect of working for YSE is the strong sense of community. With the entire company based in Val d’Isère, I had the opportunity to build lifelong friendships and create unforgettable memories, from skiing every day to dancing at Coco’s every Wednesday. Although I was initially nervous about the cooking element, Murray’s pre-season cookery course quickly gave me the confidence I needed to host from the very first week, thanks to the layout of his course and the individual support we were given. This job has not only strengthened my cooking abilities but also taught me invaluable life skills, after serving guests and working with people from many different walks of life. I also truly appreciated Annabel’s support throughout the season — she was always available when any of us needed her, and made it clear that YSE genuinely cares about the wellbeing of its staff. I’m incredibly grateful for my time with YSE and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to ski every day and make friends for life.

Working a winter season has hands down been the best experience of my life, from the moment I arrived back in November I knew I was going to have the best 6 months of my life, the people, the work and the skiing have all been amazing. Having wanted to do a ski season for the longest time I can remember, I never thought I would actually achieve this dream, this was until I heard about YSE. Everyone I worked with was at a similar stage in their life, having just finished uni or having taken a career, thus we all had similar experiences at the start of the season. Before working this season I was apprehensive whether I would fit in, in Val d’Isere yet after the first couple of days I knew this wouldn’t be the case. During my time in Val d’Isere I worked as a Chalet Host, working in several different chalets, this flexibility enabled me to meet a host of different people from all walks of life whether this being my fellow hosts or guests. And I feel that this fully enabled me to come out of my shell working on my social skills. Upon reflection I can say I have now met some of my friends for life, having shared some of the best experiences of my life in the most special place Val d’Isere. If you are thinking of doing a season, DO IT.

Having always wanted to do a ski season, YSE has exceeded my expectations. Being surrounded by like-minded post-grads, I can’t have imagined a better place to be working, meeting friends for life, and enjoying what I really love, which is skiing. I couldn’t have hoped for a better ski season, from the YSE team welcoming us on the first day, to everyone else I met along the way in Val d’Isere… this has been an unforgettable few months of my life and I couldn’t thank the YSE team enough for making it so special. This is an experience I truly couldn’t recommend more (so much so I’m hoping to come back year).

Working for YSE has been a blast. The work is very rewarding, it has developed my self-discipline to wake up on 2 hours sleep and hungover and deliver a personable service to guests. It also develops your people skills, having to deal with all kinds of people. As long as you are focussed the work isn’t too difficult, especially late on in the season. I worked on the bus transfer and I recommend this because I never had to deep clean until the final week. Having come from uni, where people are starting jobs etc, coming here makes you realise that there are other people who haven’t got their lives sorted. I have therefore made some great mates, who I am travelling with after season and there are many people doing the same. The chance to ski is also a lot more than you expect, around 4 hours each day as well as your days off, the whole day. We found this was a lot more than other companies since most our food is prepared in a central kitchen and distributed to us, so much less meal prep is required. Don’t expect your season to be a breeze, but it’s all worth it, I had the time of my life!

My season with YSE was one of the best times of my life. Since I was little I had wanted to do a ski season and I’m so lucky it was with YSE. Annabel, John, Murray and Christina are just brilliant! Training weeks fly by and suddenly you have learnt a whole week’s menu, cake recipes, and how to perfectly clean a bathroom with a toothpick! But the whole time you feel so supported both in work and in getting used to working in val with a whole new group of friends! YSE are amazing at hiring like-minded people, and all of us are leaving as such good friends. When we first moved in to the hotel together we were all strangers, and at the end of the season were all sat here booking our next holidays together! I lived with 9 other people (and John), in an ex YSE chalet, in a 2-man room and wouldn’t have changed it for the world. I will never forget the laughs we had in and out of the chalet, our big ski days together, and our even bigger nights at PDs!! YSE is the best in resort for work/life balance, usually we get chat from other companies for how little we work compared to them!!! So sad to be leaving, and already thinking of my next season!!!!

I have always wanted to do a ski season and specially for YSE as I have been lucky enough to be a guest of YSE for the last 12 years. Working at YSE has been the most amazing 6 months of my life. I couldn’t have hoped for anything else from my season. Being a chalet host has been so much fun and it’s been so nice meeting so many new guests each week and seeing amazing opportunities come from guests connections. I have met so many amazing and like minded people and have definitely made friends for life. I worked in a 10 person chalet with someone else and was there for the whole season. John, Annabel, Murray and Christina have been so great to work for and have always been there whatever the reason, whether that be to send us more food or to drive someone home after a long night, they are always there to help. The highlights of the season have to be Christmas Day, sitting by the Val d’Isere sign with chalet wine, living in chalet Chardons at the start and end and all the closing parties over the last few weeks. It’s been an amazing 6 months and it’s clear from other company employees that YSE is by far the best company to work for! Thank you!

YSE has really fulfilled all my aspirations of what I expected for a ski season. Firstly I have never worked for a company that really cares so much about their staff. Living with John I was a little apprehensive but he brought so much joy to the season as well as helping us with any of the issues encountered throughout the months here. Secondly, the way in which the company is set up, with a centralised kitchen, allows for much more time off during the day = more skiing! This sets YSE as employers apart from other chalet companies as we are still able to provide such a high level of service while keeping the hosts / drivers / chefs happy! Finally, the people YSE handpick in the interview process are all incredible, and this season and all the others before have created firm groups of friends for life – proved through the ex-staff who massed for John’s 50th season celebration. I cannot recommend working for YSE enough, John, Annabel, Murray and Christina are wonderful employers and management, and you will have the best six months ever!!!

The YSE Driving/delivery job lived up to everything I wanted from a ski season job. The company looked after us all so much better than I have heard from any other seasonaire jobs, they make sure that the staff are as happy as the guests are. All the other staff were made up of very similar people at very similar stages in life which is the reason I believe the YSE group gels so well and where you can make friends for life. The ski, work balance is very generous allowing 6 ski days per week. I would recommend this company to work for to any of my friends as they will undoubtedly have an incredible experience. The accommodation is also beyond what I have seen from any other companies, living with John was an experience I will never forget. It has truly been an experience I will not forget and look back on very fondly.

Working with YSE has been a wonderful experience. The team this year has been above and beyond, we have really meshed together as a cohort and we all have each other’s backs, it really set apart YSE as a company. My work at YSE consisted of mainly working as a chalet host with a couple of shifts in our kitchen in Chardons. As a chalet host I ran an 8 person chalet on my own, which sounds daunting but once you have your own systems in place in combination with the training we receive from Annabel, Christina and Hannah the season runs incredibly smoothly. My shifts working in the kitchen were also great fun, with Murray on hand for any questions I never felt overwhelmed. It can seem intimidating moving to a different country to work with an entirely new group of people, however I found that the mix of people ages 21-27 was no issue and living with a wonderful bunch of what I now consider some of my best friends was a pleasure. Overall the season has been an absolute joy and a chance to learn from some incredible people in one of the most beautiful settings is an opportunity I would recommend you do not pass up. I will not forget my YSE family anytime soon they have been a joy.
