DELIVERY DRIVER

Due to the large number of forms we have received, we are no longer accepting new applications.

We employ two delivery drivers to keep track of and deliver laundry, wine, food, wood, cleaning supplies and wine to our chalets. The position also includes doing household repairs in the chalets they deliver to, if required.

These are ideal positions for two friends who know each other well and can work in a team. This has been the most successful combination so far. It doesn’t mean we won’t consider individuals but if you do know someone who is also looking for a position in the Alps next winter, and you think you could work well together, please let us know.

This is a job for a highly organised and physically capable person, able to work in a team but also on their own delivering supplies to YSE’s chalets.

You must have a clean driving licence, be 22 or over and ideally have experience driving a 4-wheel-drive car, because driving a Land Rover on snow and ice is an important part of the job.

Many YSE chalets have open fires, and you will need to ensure that there is a regular supply of wood and kindling. The chalet staff have an app where they list the items they need to be delivered each day and you will be responsible for loading the car with the correct items and delivering them to the chalets. You will also be required to help with snow clearance. On Sundays, you will help departing and arriving guests transport suitcases and skis and also empty and refill our hot tubs.

The job is a varied position for someone who doesn’t mind a lot of heavy lifting and carrying and likes keeping lists! Our laundry is now delivered and collected late in the evening so on some days you could be working well into the evening.

In addition to a good wage, you will be able to ski on six days of the week. We provide an allowance for travel to Val d’Isère and travel back after a completed season, accommodation, food whilst you are working*, medical and third party liability insurance, a ski pass and the loan of skis or snowboards (snowboards with a supplement) and boots. There are two days off per week.

*We cannot cater for those requiring a gluten-free/nut-free/lactose-free/vegan diet.

If you accept a position with YSE you will need to arrange your own travel insurance to cover you for the season.

You will be required to pay a deposit of £500 before you start working for YSE, £150 will be required on signing your contract and £350 in November. This will be returned at the end of a successfully completed season on condition you work to the final date specified on your contract (early May) AND return your accommodation to the owners in a state acceptable to them. It will not be returned if you leave early (or don’t start working for YSE), for any reason.
