MAINTENANCE REP 2025-26
This is the ideal position for someone who is competent, with some knowledge of maintenance, electrics, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, etc and who also has some knowledge of computers, wifi, mobile phones etc. Many of our chalets now have full-fibre connections that need little attention. However, you will need to help guests and staff connect to the wifi in their chalets if they have problems. You should also be able to handle Excel spreadsheets. ski
You should own a reasonable toolkit already. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs in YSE’s eighteen chalets, or for identifying the problem when it is too difficult so that we can call in the appropriate repair service.

You could be required to deal with problems at any time, day or night, so while you will have more free time to ski/board than other staff on many days, there will be other times when you need to work on until the task is completed. Therefore, applicants must show that they are motivated and keen, have high standards and excellent time management without the need for constant supervision. When there is no maintenance work to do, the maintenance rep joins in to help other staff with their work.

In addition to a good wage, you will be able to ski on six days of the week. We provide an allowance for travel to Val d’Isère and travel back after a completed season, accommodation, food whilst you are working, medical insurance, a ski pass and the loan of skis or snowboards (snowboards with a supplement) and boots. There are two days off per week, although if there is a major problem you may be asked to fix it on your day off. In that case, extra free time will be given on another day.

You will be required to pay a deposit of £500 before you start working for YSE. This will be returned at the end of a successfully completed season on condition you work to the date specified on your contract (early May) AND return your accommodation to the owners in a state acceptable to them. It will not be returned if you leave early, for any reason.
