DELIVERY DRIVER / KITCHEN ASSISTANT
2023-24 Applications
Sadly, due to the huge number of forms already received we are unable to take any more applications for our Delivery Driver/Kitchen Assistant positions for 2023-24 as of 6 July 2023.
We may be able to open our recruitment for this position again soon so please check back if you want to apply. However, we cannot guarantee we will need any more applications.
This is a job for a highly organised and physically capable person, able to work on his/her own delivering wine, laundry, wood, cleaning supplies, food and other supplies to YSE’s chalets. You must have a clean driving licence and be over 21, and ideally have experience driving a 4-wheel-drive car or a farm vehicle, because driving a Land Rover on snow and ice is an important part of the job. The delivery driver keeps track of and delivers laundry to our chalets. Many YSE chalets have open fires, and you will need to ensure that there is a regular supply of wood and kindling. The chalet staff have an app where they list the items they need to be delivered each day and you will be responsible for loading the car with the correct items and delivering them to the chalets. You will also be required to help with snow clearance. On Sundays, you will help departing and arriving guests transport suitcases and skis.
There are four staff doing this job, two of whom are required to work in the kitchen of our chalet hotel Les Chardons each week on a rota basis, scrubbing pots and pans, loading and unloading the dishwasher, cleaning floors and helping the chefs prepare meals.
The job is a varied position for someone who doesn’t mind a lot of lifting and carrying and likes keeping lists!
In addition to a good wage, you will be able to ski on six days of the week. We provide an allowance for travel to Val d’Isère and travel back after a completed season, accommodation, food whilst you are working, medical insurance, a ski pass and the loan of skis or snowboards (snowboards with a supplement) and boots. There are two days off per week. You will be required to pay a deposit for your accommodation which will be returned at the end of the season so long as you work until the end of the first week of May.
